Envy is a dark fantasy personification of one of the seven deadly sins. A decaying noblewoman hides the lower half of her face behind a cracked porcelain mask, presenting a delicate smile that does not belong to her. Above it, exhausted eyes and weathered skin reveal the bitterness, obsession, and quiet hostility concealed beneath the illusion.
Skull ornaments, watching-eye charms, thorn-like growths, and deteriorating finery surround her like trophies gathered from the lives she covets. Muted green-gray tones and restrained metallic details create an atmosphere of artificial beauty, imitation, and slow internal corruption.
Rather than portraying envy as simple jealousy, the piece explores the desire to become someone else and the resentment that grows when admiration turns into self-erasure.
